It’s long been considered that Ibiza consists of purely summer and winter – a fast paced, four-month high season and a chilled out eight months in between. But lest we forget autumn, in all her colourful glory! It’s the first week of November, the sun is shining and temps are hitting the high 20s, meaning the beach still beckons
, and we’re maximising our summer wardrobes, as it shows no signs of cooling down just yet. Our very own Indian summer…
Now is the time when island residents and locals come out of the woodwork, ready to let their hair down and have some long-awaited real fun. It’s time for a new breed of parties – more intimate and perhaps, dare we say, even a little more hedonistic – begin to crop up and it’s the time when restaurants begin to experiment with new menus. Check out our spotlight on November below to see who’s doing what, and you’ll quickly realise the social calendar is just as busy this month as it was in high summer!
Rather than go into hibernation, here at White Ibiza we’ve been using our downtime to make some improvements to our site, including adding new sections such as House & Garden – perfect for those wanting to use the off-season to renovate, decorate or redevelop their Ibiza property. We’ve added podcasts
from the island’s favourite year-round resident DJs for your downloading pleasure plus you can still listen to Ibiza Sonica live 24 hours a day no matter where you are in the world.
It seems the old adage is true all year round - Ibiza never sleeps… |

Halloween in Ibiza
You’d probably never know it just by looking at me, but Miss W’s favourite occasion has always been Halloween. While I didn’t grow up anywhere that trick or treating took place, I always envied those American kids and as I got older, aspired to become somewhat of a scream queen. When I arrived in Ibiza, I was thrilled of course to realise that Halloween was a Major Event on the social calendar, one that required maximum effort and military like planning precision…

Fish… My favourite dish
I was in the market the other day and saw some good-looking monkfish and decided I would make a version of arroz marinera – a soupy, ricey, fish dish.
Whilst the weather ain’t exactly wintry yet, it certainly is the time of year to start getting into soups and one pot wonders. The idea of eating a hot soup in summer is positively frightening so being able to cook and eat them now is a consolation for the sun going down earlier…

Trend report: Spring Summer 2010
After all the closing parties here in Ibiza, the past few weeks have been relatively quiet – good news considering it’s time for me to review the Spring/Summer 2010 preview for women. Whilst many cities hold their own Fashion Weeks, there are only four that really count (to us!): New York, London, Milan and Paris, and they are held in that order over September/October. What can I say? Hemlines are rising…
